This is the average to savage podcast with Paul Greno everyone in anyone, athletes, sweats and much more. What's up? Everyone? Back for episode seven. Adverageis podcasts with Eva Magdalinski. Even what's up? Thanks for having yeah, for sure, I'm happy to have it. Let's just jump right into it, and can you tell me a little background? Yourself made born here and I started working at like a comedy club for my summer Datos all my summer from college, and it was a comedy works at Denverse, like one of the best clubs in the nation, and I was old enough to get into the person who drove all the COMEDIANS wasn't able to take him anymore. So all of a sudden they're like, okay, can you start driving all these famous comedians? So he is like a famous comedian, one of my favorite comedians of all time, and it won't really well, and I took a like you know, all of this park and we had a really great week. Them that day was likely to hire you and that he the owner of the comedy works and she gave me like a full time job working at this comedy club and then I started driving every week like an ever. He was really fine. I would like never have known the comedian other pick them up and they like the in my car and we get stuck in traffic and I have to make some up to talk about. But that was how I ended up meeting a comedian names healthy Hammler, show tells you lately on he so at that time when Telsey came I was starting my own little PR company, New York's publicity, and really new to it but like teaching myself as I went and Telsey was one of my first clients. So it really impowered me that she trusted me and, you know, hired me to do her pr like worked really hard and she started to really blow up the one of her second book, are either vodka came out. Feel like brought me on tour with her and I got to go, you know, tell these big bland and as national shows and then eventually tells the company and to moving to La to work for her full time on the TV show Chelsey lately. So it was really, really exciting because I was kind of with there before she was same, as said, when she started to blow up and I became a segment producer on Telsey lately and then we shot this TV show after lately, which is all about like the behind of the scene of hotels, and it was like all true stories, like if you would be at your desk and get up from your computer selsee was like den on and send on an email to the whole staff from your accounting like does anyone help a condomn or like all sorts of stuff. So I've all these like crazy experiences that happened working for her, like she dated fifty cent and he came on toward us and it was all really fun. And actually got to write a book in Tolsy, the Book Wise, the Tolfie Hamiler told me. I read a chapter. Excuse me, Untilfi Book Wise, but Sophie Hamiler told me.

So you can check that out. It's like your local library. On the others, on itunes. All that working in the TV world and it was fun and I got, you know, I just this calling. I really wanted to get into Jing. So I was working the show and randomly we got this call, you know, like I put it out there, like I really want to like I love music, I love and her hipop I want to Dj. So we got this random calling at the show. Remember, I could this is scratch Dj a kind of man? I'm like what? SO SCRATCH DJ Academy was founded by a JAM Master Day from Dan seed, and I immediately like sign up and started going to school there. And they literally like it's like the talk to dude in the world teaching you how to scratch, how to do everything in like dd revolution, who is like an idol of mine and like one of the talk Dj's in the world, like taught me to Dj. So I suck for years, of years there just still bombed, like was really bad at it, and then I finally got really, really good and I put it out there because like like my nickname for myself. I say am a self proclaimed game tager. I'm like, well, you can't say your game tager without being a game tager. So well, how would I be a game tager? Like what would I do? And I was like fully, well, my first ever show to be a five to the amphitheater. So I put that out there. I was like theater, it's going to happen. And like my sister bought me a pair of goal that DDAs like two and looked at them and I'm like I'm going to well, next thing you know. That's why, really you got a dream, big and big, big friend and I went to high school was it actually turns out he was a promoter for this amazing show. He's got this company, Icelandic Skis, and say wren and his really good business partner Anderson, like they promote these amazing shows, I call them, and I was like I really want to have my first public Duj show be with you. So my first ever public DA show was actually at Roxy Amphitheater in Colorado and it wasn't five thousand. That's like a zero sea outdoor venue. I got to open for Damian Barley and the building. Well, it's a crazy story already. So back to back to working for Chelsea, the Chelsea lately show. So you basically started there like kind of out of college, right to the woman's College at the University of Denver, like the weekend when I was working at the coffee work. So school like agree, while I was like like in my free time, basically graduated and got so and so you became close runs are and you got to write a chapter in her book. Yeah, so what was I was experience like, Oh my God,...

...and I really do believe in like you know, people are like how do you do? Like, if you want to do something, like you got to be proactive. I took the initiative to write it and like she really helped me by having another comedians there, colonnade. You know, the other professional could begin. They know what they're doing, but it was amazing, like, you know, it really is like the if you read the chapter, it really is like all true stories. And like this one time she has us two friends of hers, Brian, and these guys are like this gay couple, the most amazing gay couple you've ever met with them from my computer and was like Hey, guys, I don't know where to go, I don't know who to turns you, I'm looking to come out of the closet. Can Help me and like I got this email, repile, like the nicest email you cover. Like, like you though, we completely understand. We've been there. You know, wait, please come over. Brian's offer to cook get her, and I like get this email to tell them this is a joke. Immediately, like panically reply and I'm like no, no, no, like you don't see until he said that and then they like reply. They're like look, we've been there. It's okay. We thought so, like to this day, they still become a club of lesbian and then she like email their sister from my account was like here's healthy. I don't know where to go out on a turn to Telsey. Hit me today, right now, and I'm afraid you can ask Great Punch help me. And like her sister replied like you had me as fad. You lost me at as great to a punch. I try, Chelsea. When I got that from sister, I'm like looking around and I'm like, Oh my God, it's like all the other girls like, Oh yeah, you didn't know Chelsea sends out emails, do like spray play pranks on her employees. Yes, sorry, how long did you work? Her years? That's a start. And you started like basically from the bottom right. Yeah, and I really didn't have any idea what I was doing, you know, like how to book a private jet or anything like that. And it was a really exciting time because we would shoot the show Monday through Friday and then we get on a private jet, go to a city Friday night, do as signing do. Its like a five stamp. So do another insure signing to a second show. Then do another signing, like a venue signing. I should stay in Sir, but venue signing and then get on the plane and go to the next city. Do that again on Saturday to get on Sunday and they got back into the show and we did four tours. So I wasn't stood and we actually had cameras following us on the Telfy Telka thin...

...thank tour for like a documentary, so that like a camera recording everything. I was just talking to someone about the yes, or on a podcast about cameras following them around and how it was weird. I just got so used to it I wouldn't even just become the plumb do it. So while you were working there, you were also doing a project where Richard Simmons Right, yes, like I break up, and I went and I was like I'm going to go, you know, like a chronical workout. So Richard has a studio in La called swimming's, and I went there and I am like the most part occurs and the other me and Richard's really positive. So we like a met and it was over. We just like fell in love with each other. So Richard actually put me in his TV informery. So and I had to like, you know, go work out sixty the week for an hour and give me my little Richard Him and stood, but I follow the program like to like up, you know, like just getting in wrong. Really Amazing City. Back to three months and so we had this like big Christmas party expo is going to be in. Richard came to the Party at he wore this like it was like that shorts and like top with like Sequen Martini Gos on it, and he was a really good day. So he's a crazy guys out like yelling you, like there's a cookie on the floor, pick it up. He was. He was really fun. So he's he's a crazy guy, he's a fun guy, like he's like your young niece or like great grandmother. Loved them like I feel. I felt so happy and fortunate to have that experience of and because he just made such a difference in so many people wives, you know, and and like for him to have the same that he didn't keep it like he has, like it's really impressive. Yeah, for sure, he's definitely a pop up pipe pop culture. I and so, once barred you to get into Djing and like pretty much leave your career I love. I I really do underground hip hop and something about like going to shows and all that, and I just feel like music is so fun and like when it comes to eating, I really like scratching and like they have battles and all that kind of stuff, and that's like really where it just feel like this is so fun and you know, you can compete and like you come to practice and I just feel like it's a really fun, you know, like Avenue to work in with music and I love Dj. So it's really like and I got to travel with it. So that's the part that's just kind of been. It was...

...like a different scene for me and I like that. So so we're happened. You just really I'm putting my job. I'm becoming a DJ. Started tell. He was super supportive. Actually made me the DJ on the show tell late and then we like so I stayed like a thing for you there and then I would dj like when the show came on, I kind of kept bots do and then, like you know, like you find new music whatnot, and it would cross from boat because the musicians on the show and there's that whole media world where like I just love coming up with ideas to for segments with DJ's and like TV and Djing donally like go hand in hand, and I think comedy and music. So I just kind of switched in. Like telsa boxer. All take stuff and she really has taken this. You know, I'm pressive because she really wants to get into politics. When the show ended, I just decided to stay full time. And who's like your favorite DJ's? I love the blow blood and then revolution and I don't know who Alison Wonderland is. Checker out like a lot of the bigger and hotel and stuff, but I really liked big so like that's really fun to me. I just did a wedding on Saturday. Was Fun. I didn't know wedding world. Do them for like my friends and family. So it was my dad's dad best friend's daughter and I had way too much fun. I'm like crying the whole reception, like you know, like is this fun? It was really fun to have the dance floor of all your friends and everyone. Now, so the wedding. They're fun when you know people. So is that where you're what are you like mainly doing? Are You doing like parties? Really focusing on I have some big thing, like big for this year next year, and talking a couple people about touring with them and opening for them. And then I'm really trying to hold it on my practicing because, like scratching and vinyl, I really want to get into like the competitive toj world. Do you ever set up at your house like the world championship with Djing and then both styles, like you know, but you've got to really be like really I'm like like coning in on my set and just kind of really getting some results up together. But it's all about practice. Yeah, for sure. I mean that's pretty much with everything, right. Yeah, right. So what is your setup book like? Is it at your house? But you practice, you and mixer and then I also have a controller, which is pioneer serato controller. But I like the controller a lot because, like, I've been doing a lot of outdoor events and like Patios and stuff like that for summer and like in the summer you can't have...

...vinyl right in the sun really it's windy or whatnot, your needles can blow around. So I do like this little controller because it's like it packs up and it goes to all sorts of stuff and I'm working on the like some events for Victoria's secret and just doing fun shows. I found like when you can, you know, when you D do for the women or you get the women to the shows, the guys come. It's like the dance when you get the girl with the guys. Yeah, so are you trying to get on? Like so, I'm been so like that, like with like rappers and stuff like that. Absolutely, yeah, now, like the ultimate day, really cool realization. I'm like all these legends. I look up to the boys and hang like all these amazing people like run DMC, like they're all still alive, you know, and they're all around them. Like I want to work with all that, like I really do, and I give a portion of all the money and May to grow, think, because I realized SOM like wow, now all these guys have daughters who are in hip hop and they're coming into hip hop and I just like the idea kind women and hiphop. It's awesome. Say You gotta do you can just reach out to them on social media. Most some have it. I know. It's so crazy, like it's like a couple rappers are like one of Theole, like like a photo or something, and I literally fall out of my care with excitement, like I can't even take it. When, like I have a little things that will come up or someone'll follow me and I'm just like it's amazing what you can do with social media and just slide in the DM's like love water side, like go to the gym, but I like don't work out. I just got out of the water. I slid over and over. So I made my sister. I'm like you guys think it could your met going down the water slide. So I can cook and feel like here's yeah, so I know you keep on saying so you're, I'm assuming you're a big fan of Bhutang, but what other music deals and are like? I love peoples and like evidence from dilated people's evidence is like number one. I just his style and his music. I love amosphere. They do so much amazing self living legends. I really like the group. They're actually friends of mine that they're like I've been coming really like open everything and I play everything, but I have everything. I love the idea of when you can pute like hip hop, country, your whatnot, Mak it sound good, but I think at the end of the day it's about playing good music. So I always try to be really open minded and check out as many groups as I can, but I would say my all times like this here evidence dialate to peoples living legons. Yeaha Yasha, I'm into the right...

...now. I'm into trending Spanish English songs, basically like the rapping and re Stiene I really like right now. Why are you his new stuff out? His new stuff out there? I really like. He's got a really cool style. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, even like, I mean even when you go to look up songs on like spotify and then you see the album, then like their songs, they never heard of, but they obviously been out, but they just weren't like mainstream. They're getting good. Howcome? You know what? The one thing that I get more than anything right now, like an idjet to play like, if not once, like three different times a night's cardip. Oh. Yeah, she's on fire enough. Yeah, everybody like it's actually really it's like cold to me, like I could always come on the request. Yeah, it's actually one of the song and talking about she has one with the sky was Su Zuna. It's like Spanish and English. Yeah, yeah, but I like a lot of her stuff. So I like her style, but consistent. I always get a Cardi B request. Yeah, when you're when you're at like one of these events, like say it's a wedding or a party, and somebody goes up to and ask you for a request but you don't have it. Do you usually have like a Awk scored or like Wi fi that I can play? Yeah, because I went to I went to a wedding and I actually like two or three times it's happened to me and I asked them for a song and they say they don't have it, and I was like, you don't got no aux scored and they were like no, as like what you you can't get on there, and they're like no, and I was like what's going on the wedding? Every track I have gotten ially download it just going to bride and I really catered to the bride so that I kind of got the thumbs up from her, from like like a later on in the night, that I could play all the request and all the little kids come up and I taught them to DJ and like. But I don't know, there's something to me, like I really like playing a song when someone asked me to play something. And it's like also really out there crazy. I love the challenge of like getting it in and getting it on right away, and it's a good feeling. You could play it. Yeah, so I usually ready to go now to like get it and figure it out and downloaded or get it on like right away, so I can play it like within thirty seconds of the request, for sure. What's what's The music APPS? Is your favorite? When I'm preparing for show, people always them the links from spotify. They find all the music on spotify. Like you really gotta like, like, you know, have a good mess with the flood spotify, because it's a good tool. I love these. A city. It is like I really admire. It's a music pool where you can get music from the ton of items like because idea just like you can get the song right...

...away, down with it. You know, I probably as one of the most the part that gets a little Turkey for me, like it's like your biggest thing. There's Kay, if you like play the time and little kids around them like a couvert and minute. That's the only thing that gets a little bit tricky. When it comes to a cross like master, it's clean, basically. Sure. So what are your goals for DJ? I really want to compete and like get to travel the world competing as a DJ, for sure. So like on like the Red Bull circuit thing, yeah, and the DNC, and like I really want to work to be in as many competitions as I can. I just love being nervous and like the pressure of it's just fun and there's so many great people at the event and like such a culture in a world there. So I'm really looking forward to that. And then I like vacations. So I like doing gigs where I can go. I've been to like the Bahamas and like I like going to new places where I can go to DJ. Yeah, for sure, and I'm sure you meet a lot of people too, obviously, just traveling. Yeah, and I want to keep up the theaters. I guy good plans in the work that. So hopefully we can keep it tough. I can keep you both good, for sure. So where's like? Have you ever been on the East Coast to or just on the West Coast right now? I've been to New York and Miami and Connecticut. Where you been New York, like your city? Yeah, I got when I traveled to Chelsea. I gotta go everywhere, only it's city. I have not yet been to have something in the work that in Nashville, which is surprising because of Nashville I hear so many good things about all the time. You me to I think it's a new destination of like two thousand and eighteen or something people, and I can believe I still have a com I need to put that on my little get. Some country mixes it. Yeah. Well, I appreciate your time. And where could people find it? Social Media. I am on instagram and it is exciting and I hope you will go add me or, you know, flds or whatnot. If even magazine, so like a magazine. If even magazine, and that's actually nickname I got from Chelsea. You can google even Magdalensky on facebook. It's Evamatdaalski. have got facebook pages on there. It's Djaev and Dja Eva with three as, and even magazine, twitter at even and how could people book you? Like instagram is a good way, like facebook all that. I check all the messages all the time. So that's so great way to go about it, for sure. I appreciate you coming up. Yeah, and hopefully will say and hatch all I...

...appreciate.
