Or special guests. Today is Marcel Andrey starred, and last chance you now is d line coach at nickels state. Marcel, how's it going good? Appreciate you coming on today. No problem. So let's let's just take it back. You grew up in New Orleans, right of war and the proud guy a whole life. Gosha, Gosha. How did you get into football like originally when you're younger? When I was younger, I was Frank Wilson, who is the hate coach Ats, and I was probably in the third grade, eight years old, being a round. Guys like Craig Davis, first round. What's the play couple of years? Mike Wallace, all guys that definitely. That really helped me start my career as a youngster, for sure. For sure. And going into your high school career, what was the recruiting process like for you? John Curtis, and I was rotating guy my freshman in the sophomore year, my senior. That into a huge role where I became the guy and I had a lot of offers going into my my senior year, of course not being qualified. You know, the school start thinking back the offers and everything and my first couple of weeks of my first AUF was to the sea and of creer by those guys out there and just been a real good you know who are good high school player at ton Curas and I want to transfer that same assusted my senior year where, tyry mate, you come from. Hoo for next tree terms of the whizot dolls. All those guys prepped dad, same hog and...

I went there for a year and had a great experience. Dawns, the coach, Stink Johnson, who's now the head, not the head for the burner. Best Coach at Tennessee right now. You know I was coached by Quan Drake and will see the the line coach of Erik Kansas. So I'm getting a lot of good ball coaches and he really inspire me, you know, and coach myself something. God had definitely good company right there. How'd you end up at East Mississippi? So my first go around stupoes period and fought out was going to qualify. I set out my first year of two thousand and twelve trying to take that qualify that. I didn't qualify. So I want to go into Garden City for semester. Didn't quite like it out there. Gladden was too fourth about. I think here, coach act the time. Want to be under their for you know, I'm for yes, and I couldn't. I couldn't do for years football and where that? Yet out back to the defensive line, coach over there. Was Nineteen years old and sign for my guys. Sign for saw university, Oklahoma University. Gotcha. So you said you went to a Garden City for one year. Then you had to sit out. So you went back and coach football at your high school. Yeah, Spring Semester. Yeah, get out there and you know, didn't know too much about I came home to coast, the deep, the line at back home. The Wall got so then then that's how you ended up at East Mississippi the following year. YEA, and all I was released out my scholarship from city Monday. I was relieved that Friday. All that. He didn't, you know, didn't go whatever case eating.

But that was really my last chance. So I had to make the most of it, for sure, for sure. And like overall, what was your experience like East Mississippi, great spirit? Two years? I was dead my first year, so I couldn't get certified time. So there semester and I help my coach over at the time, which Darren Williams. Help Him. Next, I want to be players and help the guys, the guys. I was being a force of front, for sure. For sure. And like when did you know Netflix was going to come and shoot the last chance you series? We got there, you know, I didn't think much of it. The Guy Much of it? Yeah, you know, we didn't know. You know, Hig so, you know, quite ourselves, you know, being a lot of cameras and make me take much of it. So it was really ourselves. Is killing a lot of cameras. You know, seeing yourself. You know TV. You know, of course you happy about it, exciting, but we didn't thinking of Beau become, you know, all of us. Yeah, definitely, definitely. You're on season one too. Also was a season one and I had an appear on season two. Gotcha. Gotcha. Yeah, I forgot because it's been so long now. But yeah, and I think, like everyone agrees, that season one that can never be beat because it was so raw, like you just said, you guys didn't even know, like you guys didn't like care about the cameras. And now, like, obviously now everybody knows about it. And I remember even, like I remember even like the first season too, like there is no social media buzz about it, like they didn't even have like a twitter page and all that. Now, like now it's like a whole brand, like it's crazy. So what was it like? Yeah, what was it like when it released? And then, I would say,...

...like season two probably got more popular. So was we're you getting hit up more like when season one release, or like season two, because people like rewatching like season one. Yeah, myself, helpful guys that brother did you do? You Still Watch the show today, like you watch the new seasons, not as much, you know. Yeah, I remember. I remember you and Ali had some funny moments on the show. For sure. You still keep in contact with them all the time. What was it like to to play under Poach Buddy Stevens? See, you know, pretty much pretty much guy sooty seem you know, I respect every coach. You know, I had a problem you guys ways him, you know him, so win on those quite understood Gordon guys. You know what he wanted to yeah, for sure. For sure. Yeah, just like you were saying about like I know you got some backlash, but I mean I think it was just that people just don't understand that. That's that's like normal, like that's not...

...it was anything crazy, right, you won't be surprised, trust for sure. Great Guy. Yeah, definitely. And what was your experience with Miss Wagner? All of us, some of us was pretty good, may always clown. We always talked about certain dissuas. Just wasn't about sports with her. She really wanted to help the kids out, you know, and can't think she was there for us. I really appreciate this. Appreciate he's a really great person. Yeah, definitely, definitely. So you got out of East Mississippi. You signed with nickels. So what was your basically your second, third and whatever you want to call it, recruiting process? Like I got done teams. Would you know, and being this is my last says my second goal around the gyles. Twenty two years old and I had a relationship where the coast here previously for to go where you recruited my brother and Strobo saw and he became a corty to here Nichols and coach Rebot, local Rebot, who is a great guy, great recruiter, and I saw his visiting. Want to change they. I want to get a part of that, you know, and we did. I came here two years, I played here and was very productive here. Grabbed a lot of the guys. You know, we're really lead, vocal leader here. That a guy respect to me came back to be a coach the last year and was successful conference here and turn hundred and twelve, kind of fourteen winning conference. So the really change the coach around, he feels, you know. So it really...

...great. Is going a great time for sure, for sure. And what was it like to go to college with Ali? Yes, so that time pretty much I did it have a nowhere go at one point, you know. So he was just at home. So I call rose here, comeball me two years here and go to the League, you know, Don you know, didn't really have much. So, you know, he got to school attention. So he came to Nicholas and, you know, playing that he's playing with that Nichols really great to not last I got a char of the help coach him up, you know. So it was really great, you know, seeing him grow. I told him that they just watch him and become a man. You know, is really special because, you know, seeing me come from put through in life, you know how he's got a shot to be that fails. This is crazy. So it was really good, you know, be Teamma, one of his coaches. Yeah, definitely, definitely. Yeah. So what's it been like going from player to coach on the same team? Also being a coach? I was that was one of my passions for a long time. What's the coach and my teammates? I express it to him before I got the job. So, but when I got the job it was I can you know she was not too much. It was a difference because I knew from stuff. You know matrol already. I'm on twenty five, twenty four, playing with guys, sure you know, and I know what I wanted to so I have to separate, you know, from the guys who was playing with, you know, with the all my brothers. You know, I want the war those guys, you know, but I kind of separated myself to last year. I knew I wanted to know my goal and I'm passing my dream with us to be a police coach team and the experience been great. You with kids,...

...you know, having a major himpact on kids lives, man, is unbelievable. You know, don't take cont to have an impact on the lives. That's very important, especially the time of days. Guard now. Yeah, definitely, definitely. Yeah, I was going to say like you, you you just sound like a coach. Is your is your dream to be a head coach one day and at a college? Absolutely, my dreams come head coach one day. You know, the measure stick is saying, you know, everybody you know wants to be like nick saving, you know, and I think is, yeah, I want to be in only better they save me someding. You know, I'll respect to make season tremendus coach. You know. Everybody you know looks at this thing big saving as the me, you know. So one day I want to be just as good, or I am better in the sat some day. You know, that's one of my drinks as a young coach. Hopefully that they feels itself for sure. Sure. What and what advice would you give to like, I don't know, may be like a young football coach and that young football player, young football coach state. Of course, you know, because if all gave up doing being in those three years I took took off of you know, from ball. So tell not be growing up in the walls. You know, this is at that city is selfish. You know, it's just good the band every city, but you know, the walls kind of different. So we make it out in the walls is just says some single type of person, type of characters you have, you know. So I think it is man stield, of course. You know, don't, never give up on your dream and your goals. You know, be very invistinous and attacking, you know, just attacking. My thing is ment tell you a reality in your state. Maybe I'm tired, I don't want to do this, but the reality state is you got to get it done until you got to get it tough, gotter overcome. So does my advice in a kid, any young coup to the course. Man, you got this, you can do...

...it. Definitely, definitely. There's definitely inspiration right there. And you ready for some fun questions? are going to go from average to savage. You got all right. You know, I love I love the Pacers and now I love the Raider. That won't I love the races to yeah, and now I got to go back to being a Dau here the raiders. I got to go back to be I I love Tom Raids, be chick. You know, that's another guy, guy like that. You know. So, like I, like we've got going over. There's probably get myself. I love the Patriots, you know, of course, Cos ball stick, colonel. Yeah, yeah, it's funny because I'm in Connecticut and I'm not a New England Patriots Fan. I'm actually a dolphins fans. Come on. Yeah, so what about top five favorite football players of all time? Wow, all time guy. So, yeah, I might get I like, okay, you know, watching them. Of course, Michael Jake, randy balls, beyonce ATS.
