This is the average to savage podcastwith Paul Greno everyone in anyone, athletes sets and much more. WHAT'S UP, everybody? I'm back for another episode of the average had its podcasts.got a special guest, Marlon Morice, one thirty five Bantam weight top andtender right now. Marlin, what's up? Everything good? Yeah, here podcast. Yeah, appreciate you coming on. So let's just jump right into it. How did you get into mixed martial arts? I start training Iwas nine years old. I was back home member Zio, my town, read the Jenato and one one of my friends, and that was a girl. She she told me I'm doing kickboxing and and I said I want to, I want to be around this girl, you know, and I went.I went to the kick boxing, but I just want to be aroundthe girl, you know, all good shit, and think that's here andI stud like boxy and she last she stock train. I kept training andI start to cope though. I went to a competition. Maybe I waseight months training. Yeah, I want and I felt in love with thesport and that just kept doing. Yeah. So how did you make the movefrom Brazil to the US, and what was that transition like. Iwill say I start young and you know, I did a lot of competitions,a lot of kickboxing, a lot of my tied in I was fifteen, my friend told me, Hey, man, you should be Ju Jitsubecause you like a mem a. You know, maybe you can find andI just I just start training. I start saying Jiujitsu. I started tolike Jiu Jitsu as well, and I was eighteen. I gotta fight andthen they fight. But think, who thinks was hard and Brazil. Ihave a job and I was going to school and training. It was hardto do everything and at some point I have to stop. Train hard alittle bit. I was training as a while, you know, couple daysa week and but but I still wanted...

...to compete. I was still competeand I have a little bit tough, maybe true, three years and doingthat. But I finish the school, I quit everything and and I startjust just train and teach. And later on at some Barbazza, he camehere. He was living in Florida and he signed with you seeing and hesaid, Amen, if you want to come here, you can come here. You can teach at the gym. And they said the gym dom llbe back there. They paid for my Zeza and I came here. Icame here for teaching and this is how I got here. Yet when youare got here, did you already know English or did you have to likewarning on the fly? I was I brought I bought my my my pictureMaddie on the plane and then it starts to one all the way here.Hello, what's up? You GOTCHA. That's crazy. I had a couplecouple wards. You know. I think I went to London two times months. I knew how to say hello, you know, and not, not, not, and ask for food, you know, for something easy. But that that was it. You know. I started long everything here in twothousand and eleven. Yeah, so your breakout was in the world seriesof fighting. So who, like discovered you? To get into that,I was in Florida and I was speaching out there and Addson had a coupleof fights in the UFC and he wants to make a change and Frankie hadyou going to invite him to come here and New Jersey and and he broughtme with him and we start training here with these guys and some day Iwas barring and this guy all the up lads sparred me a little bit andhe said, man, I think I can get you a fight, andthat's that's how I met him. Now you start managing me and he gotme a fight on the which that that's...

...how it was. So you wenton a tear in the world series of fighting. You want on eleven gameand then eleven fight, win street and you will be. You became theBantam weight champion. Then you HAVEC signed, you two thousand and seventeen, andso who was that whole experience like? Yeah, man, was a toughroad, you know. I went to work us and I got there. I was like nobody, you know, and I start to build my name. I became a champion and I start to fight for the title witha lot of good guys. But guys are a lot of people didn't know, you know. So it was a lot of responsibility over my shoulders andI was a ranking guy and fighting all those good guys coming from everywhere, and was hard. It's easier and you'll see. You see you know who'sgoing to be the content that you're watching the guys and you know all aboutfifteen guys. So who you know? You have a notion that who yougoing to be competing again against. So, but what was it? I enjoy, you know, I enjoy the road. Learned so much. Youwant to know its shears of fighting with all the employees. You know,a lot of good people out there and honest people. They they helped meand they built the fight that I am today. You know, I'm verythankful and I had good emotions. You know, I was a word chapel. How about? You know, I defend the bell. I fought indifferent countries. I fought in many, many cities in in America. Iwas able to go places that I've an never, never dream before. Sowhat's good? The road was great, but, like to my goal wasthe ending, your see, and after a couple of years I start tothink so much about this, you know, and I kept working hard and they'llput an each game and I didn't. I didn't sign with the your see, we prefer St Day on the work series. But later on they'llput ten each came again and we saw that that was time, you know, but they come back and I did...

...one more fight, but after thatone that was it. You know, I need something else. I needto go somewhere I need to post with something bigger, you know, andit's just what I did. I moved to the USC and that's how Igot to the USC. Yeah, so you had a tough first office bysplit decision, but you're on a three three flight winning streak right now andyour backpack fight of the night performances. And your last fight was a Ko, but it's Jimmy Rivera and he was on like a twenty fight winning streakand thirty three seconds to do them in June. So what's next to you? I don't know, man. I thought of competition. You know myprose on a challenger and I want to fight for the build. Yeah, but let's see, let's see what's going to happen and I hopefully we cometo to a good decision and I have to fight that I want to.If not, I'm going to keep fighting, to keep putting the show and performingfor for the fans. You know, that's it for sure. Yeah,I was going to ask you. So I know you want to fightTJ dot show, but that doesn't happen, what would you who would you fight, or who do you want to fight? A couple guys that Iwant to fight. You know, I can fight. I can fight.Maybe I can rematch with us a song, you know, and then we decidewho was next, you know, but let's see. Me, I'mconfidant, you know, and I hopefully I get the shot. Yeah,I think eventually you'll end up fighting TJ deal. So, so how doyou think that will that fight would play out? To Chase, the showis the best. You know, that's division. He's able to fight everywhereand he's a mixed march of artist. But he got holes, you know, he got homes. On his game. Everybody has, and I believe ina good given day, I can, I can upset Him, you know, I can bring I can big pace to the table. That couldput him in trouble. I believe that, and he does to, you know, we keep hinting and that him and his coach, they mention meup again, screws you know why?...

Why they say that crew should fightme. You know, they got to say if they think I'm tough, tough, you know, I could give crew struggle. Why not give himtrouble, you know? Yeah, and that's what what upsets me a littlebit. That's it. Every sure. Have you ever like spart teacher. No, I never, never spoil and never see. That's good, youknow. Yeah, always the first time and it's good to fight somebody don'tknow at all. But I know this guy, you know. I've beenwatching him for a long time. Yeah, we all know each other on adotes. Yeah, definitely. So for those that don't know, wheredo you where are you train out of, and who are you training with?Leaving time, you know, when we go train NICATONE MMA, wego to handsle grace, but my main coach is that Frankie. Frankie,I do he eat the fighter, but he helped me a lot with mywrestling, and Mark Hanley's my head coach in Le Cargo. Made will wantcard here and you know, Have Ryan coming here to for kickboxing and thetrain being great. Me, I'm very happy with a year and this iswhat I'll be. You know, I'm I can't wait to find for mynext fight and just put everything together. Yeah, definitely. So what wouldyou say your most memorable fight is to date? Right now, I thinkit was the last one. You know, like people, most of the people, the fans, they just remember about your last fight. But throughan our heads is a little bit like that. Do I think the lastfight keep drinking out on our head, but I believe my first fight inthe words years of fighting was a big fight for me. You know, was a breaking point. You know, when I fuck mediators and and Iprove to the world I belong there, you know, and I'm leash eatand I'm a fight, they're out to fight for anybody. Yeah, Ithink I think your previous two fights, I know, definitely the last oneyou went. You went pretty much viral, like all over ESPN, stuff likethat. Well, what was that like? Cool man, was greatand to see a lot of people talking...

Always on the beginning you have to fight again. Yeah, people, definitely. So what do you like to do inyour free time when you're not training? Let's let's say my family, withmy wife.
